pajama party at myspace

OK, this is creepy:

MySpace has identified more than 29,000 registered sex offenders on its social network — more than four times the number it claimed to have found in May, according to the North Carolina attorney general’s office.

It may be only 0.04% of their users, but as North Carolina’s attorney general, Roy Cooper, points out:

“That number includes just the predators who signed up using their real names, and not the ones who failed to register or used fake names, or who haven’t been convicted.”
