DSM: melting of the rightwing ice cap

In one of hundreds of signs that media opinion is shifting to the Dems, Richard Cohen, a ninja-class conservative enabler of the asinine variety, whose favorite lines run like “I’m a liberal…but Jerry Falwell is right on this one,” offers a delicious takedown of the official conservative media’s love affair with Palin and its grounding in her combo of ideological purity and political naivete. They thought they were the puppet-masters. Instead it blew up on them.

Now, if you’ve got Richard Cohen on your side you have to wonder if your side is worth anything. But as I’ve written earlier, that’s a problem for after November 4. For now, savor the meltdown of the right-wing ice cap.
