community organizers

Accordinging to Sarah Palin, being mayor is like being a community organizer “except with actual responsibilities.” So only government official have responsibilities in our society. It’s a message that runs counter to a message that’s been central to the GOP at least since the thousand points of light.

We all have responsibility, and community organizers have dedicated themselves to exercising that responsibility.

Who are community organizers? Rosa Parks, John Lewis and others in the civil rights movement. They were community organizers.

Susan B. Anthony: community organizer.

Paul Revere and the Sons of Liberty. Community organizers all.

Yes, some of the greatest heroes in American history — not government officials, but community organizers.

How about leaders and members of the faith-based organizations promoted by the Bush administration — community organizers.

Even Sarah Palin, when she joined the PTA; she was a community organizer too.

And let’s not forget that notable community organizer, Jesus of Nazareth. (I think you’ve heard of him, Governor Palin).

But it seems that Palin, McCain, Giuliani and the rest have no interest when citizen-viewers take up responsibilities to society.
